Focusing on the positive

One of the most powerful tools to enhance your well-being is to train your brain to focus more on the positive things that happen to you and how you influence them. Martin Seligman and his team have tested the following exercise against a number of others and, to-date, this has been found to have the greatest affect on on-going well-being.

Exercise

At the end of each day (or whenever is convenient for you), write down three positive things (however small or big) that have happened during the day and what it is what that you did to make these things happen.
Do this regularly (ideally every day) and you can expect a real increase in your sense of well-being.
Perhaps get yourself a small notebook to make the notes in every day (or whatever works for you).
