Using your strengths in a new way

This is another of the exercises tested by Martin Seligman and his team and shown to improve your sense of well-being. The principle of this one is that people feel at their best when they do those things that they are naturally good at and that we all use our strengths some of the time but if we can use them more we will feel more engaged and fulfilled.
First, you need to identify what your strengths are. You can do this free at Authentic Happiness where you can register and complete the VIA Strengths questionnaire  (if you haven't already)*.
The second step is to find new ways of using them each day. These don't need to be big things necessarily; just use one of your strengths in a different way each day.

* Alternatively, you can use https://www.strengthsfinder.com/ Gallup Strengths Finder (you need to buy the Marcus Buckingham's book 'Now discover your strengths' to use this). This has more of a business focus than the VIA Strengths but you have to pay for it.
